Aurora is a China-based OLED display manufacturer. Aurora’s 0.96 inch OLED screen module supports full customization and is widely used in energy storage inverters, industrial control equipment, wearable devices vehicle locators and other electronic projects and equipment. It not only is of the characteristics of wide viewing angle, but also has high reliability and high contrast.
This display screen module, with 1″ diagonal of approximately 0.96 inches, is highly readable due to the high contrast offered by an OLED display. The 0.96 inch display is composed of 128×32 individual white OLED pixels. The light of each pixel can be turned on or off by the controller chip, and no backlight is needed as it has its own light source.
All OLED displays are placed on a breakout PCB along with support circuitry, allowing you to use this little wonder with 3.3V(Feather/Raspberry Pi) or 5V(Arduino/Metro328) logic levels. An auto-reset circuitry is also designed, making the reset pin optional. Since it communicates via I2C, it can be easily connected with just two wires – power and ground. Thanks to an I2C command structure, the board’s firmware maintains speed by updating only the part of the screen that changes, similar to the concept of “Dirty Rectangles” or “Bit blit” operations in computer graphics.
The power requirements depend somewhat on how much of the display is lit. On average, the display uses about 20mA from the 3.3V supply. Built into the OLED driver is a simple switch-cap charge pump that converts 3.3V-5V into a high voltage drive for the OLEDs.
This screen has high contrast due to its low power requirement. Its crispness and miniature size are also significant advantages preferred by both users and suppliers, making it one of the easiest ways to incorporate an OLED into your project.
